Life keeps rolling along!
Ken loves his job. Me, not so much, but I try to be supportive. They call him and or text him all hours of the day, like he never has a day off. He works so many hours a week and he is salary pay. He worked this way at Trugreen, however he was paid more per hour with benefits so it was okay. But, it's still the best offer he's gotten since Trugreen, so I try to be supportive...most of the time. I'm only human. ;)
My Mom seems to have settled into the nursing home pretty well. Dad visits her every day for at least three hours, if not more. Cheryl (my sister that lives in town) takes Mom out to lunch a couple of times of a month and to an occasional movie. She wants to see about having her over night on the 4th Of July so she can see the fireworks. She has always loved the fireworks.
Speaking of Cheryl, her mother in law gave her and her husband enough money to buy a house. They found one, I'm very happy for her. I'm a little jealous because I don't think Ken and I will ever have that and I'm okay with that, but I'm a little jealous. Can you imagine? No rent to pay? No house payment? We have both right now. She will have taxes to pay, but it will not be as much as rent would be in a year that's for sure. Anyway, she's always wanted a baby but never got pregnant, so once they are settled in, she wants to get a puppy. :) I think that is fun and it will be a good distraction for her.
One more month of classes. I'm so done mentally. I don't want to go any more, I'm not stopping now, but I've had enough. I don't like going to school with 18 year old's that think of me as old. I know I'm as old as their parents, but some of them are so rude to me. Anyway, four weeks and I'm done! Yippee!!
I was asked to do my pool job again. I told him I would but he needs to find someone for me to work with. He asked about Eddie and well, he gets enough hours at Applebee's. So, hopefully, he will find someone. I will stop in later this week and see if he has found anyone.
Well, here's some shocking new news! ;) It's what brought me here today! Last Saturday, Amanda passed her driver's test! Today she is supposed to go in and get her license. She needs a smaller car to drive and I'm not sure what she's going to do about that, but she has her license. We just have the two minivans and she doesn't handle them well. My sweet neighbor let her use her little car to practice in and take her test. So, I'm nervous, but excited about that! She didn't want that on Facebook because she has never told her friends that she didn't have her license yet.
Amanda was also hired as a full time sub in the district that she went to school in. She gets work just about everyday. They set it up for her and she just has to go there. I like this because the schools are so close to us. If she makes enough money, maybe she will buy a smaller car for herself.
Now we have to work on Eddie to get his license because his late hours stink! He is working five days a week, sometimes six and he gets off work at midnight or one a.m. or whenever he's done if they were busy.
Zachary had a meltdown at school over two months ago. The counselor now agrees he should have a plan. She's working very slowly to get it for him though. I know she's busy, I'm waiting.... I found out what set him off. He had one boy more or less picking on him daily in a class. It's a boy he's known since Kindergarten. I honestly think he's jealous of Zachary. This boy has so much more than Zachary does, but I think he still sees the things that Zachary has that he doesn't. Like a brother that makes a silly batman movie with him and puts it up on Youtube. This boy's dad is a dentist, they live in a huge house in a fancy neighborhood. The other boy bothering him had his locker next to Z's. He actually put his hands on Z and shut his locker and much more that I'm not going into. This was happening all school year. I had no idea. He was worried if we told on these two boys, he'd get harassed more. The first boy, I emailed the teacher and told him what was happening. He moved the boy that ended that for the most part. The other boy, the asst. Principal helped with that. He called the boy into his office and told him he saw him on the camera in the hallway and that he had to stop or else he'd be punished. I'm not sure how, but it has stopped. :) And neither boy knew that we had "told" on them. Anyway, it was in the midst of all this that Zachary had his meltdown in Band. It was shortly after switching to percussion in band. He wanted to play the drums. His teacher started them out on the bells. Zachary hates the bells! Oh my gosh. I told him he'd just have to wait. Well, one day at school, he melted down. His band teacher handled it so badly. He told Zachary he was just spoiled and that crying isn't going to get him to play the drums. Now I'm sure that playing the bells did factor into his meltdown, but the other stressors of the day are what caused it. Then the teacher forgot Z has anxiety and took him in the hallway and scolded him for crying to get his way. Triple Ugh. Hence the reason for wanting the plan for him. And it will be in effect before this year ends if I have to start calling them everyday after this week. I'm giving them one more week to get me the paper work. That's it.
Well, I've just typed out a book here. :) If you read all that, thanks! I'd better get showered and get to the store before my pick ups start today. I had the day off from school and I was glad. :)
