Wow, what a day!
My friend, who I never get to see enough of, offered her husband's lego collection for Zachary. It was actually her husband's and her stepson's collection. Neither one of them had touched them since last Christmas and I had mentioned Zachary's obsession with Legos. He had gotten some new sets for his birthday and I had already bought him two sets and a storage crate for Christmas, but I wasn't going to turn down legos! :) So, she asked if we could meet them about half way (she lives about an hour away) and about a month or so ago, we did just that! Oh my gosh, you see the legos! So many! We brought them home and snuck them into the house to my bedroom. While Zachary was at school, we divided up all the colors individually and put them in the storage system. It doesn't hold them all, but a good amount of the Legos that are loose are in it. They also gave him all the books, so he can find a book, and look for the parts. That might be easier said than done, but we'd help him look. There are also sets already put together in a huge tote they let us keep. He has had a ball with that stuff today! So many minifigs, you wouldn't believe it. :) He's in Lego heaven. Anyway, "Santa" left a note saying a family that knows him asked Santa to pass these on to him and Zachary was ok with that. He didn't ask if I thought I knew who the family was, which surprised me, but he might when the reality of it all settles in. If he asks, I will probably tell him. The sad fact for me is, this was, I am sure, the last Christmas Santa will come here. Santa has been coming to my house since Amanda was a baby. Eddie and Hanna still believed when Z was born, especially when they knew I was at the hospital having a baby and the gifts still arrived somehow. Amanda was an excellent substitute Santa. :)
Anyway, I'm rambling. Dinner was so good, even if I do say so myself. Talked to my sister and brother today and also my parents. My Mom was doing pretty good tonight. That was the most alert she's been on the phone with me in a while. That is always good to hear.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. It truly is a day to sit back and enjoy our families to the fullest.
Speaking of full, I ate too much! ;) I will do better tomorrow....I hope!
