Called the lawyer today. I'm sure he's no expert on divorce but he knows the laws and what we have to do so no big deal.
He will take half now and the other half when I have it. He said he'd do it for $1000, I have to give him $300 tomorrow, $200 when I get paid next week. I don't have it, A is going to get it off her charge card. I feel guilty about that but have no where else to turn at this point. The one sister that could borrow it won't. She thinks I don't need a lawyer. When legal aid says you need a lawyer, I think you need a lawyer.
I feel stuck in this boat but oh well. There is nothing I can do about it.
Anyway, he thinks I can get alimony. I'm not looking to be rich. He said that judges (especially when we've been married for so long) they try to even out the money. I could get between 400 and 600 a month from him.
I just can't find his check stubs on my computer. He hasn't touched this computer in years. They were on here, I can't find them. Grrr!! I do have old emails with his girlfriend telling me she is pregnant. So, I will pack up my paperwork and see what he thinks tomorrow. I'm hoping one of the girls will go with me.
I am so tired. I am exhausted. I'm glad we are staying home for Thanksgiving. We all need a break.
