Ugh..

Hated this morning.  :(

Telling the boy we can't afford the down payment for the DC trip was hard.  It's not just the down payment though, it's the whole money thing.

For me, it's not where they're going or how long or what he'll see.  It's the fact that he's willing to go.  He wants to go all the way to Washington DC without me! How cool is that?  :) He's maturing in ways I never thought would happen.

But darn, it's expensive.  Frustrating.

The trip costs almost as much as the trips we could never afford for the girls when they were in choir. I don't feel too bad as we could never afford to let them go on those trips either.

So, we will try and get him to DC ourselves in the next year or so.  It's an expensive trip, but this one for him alone is about half the cost it would be for all of us to go.

Sometimes being a Mom is hard.
