Even better yet!

So, lately, Zachary's been a little OCD. Locking the door constantly and picking food apart were the worst things. He would always pick chicken apart. If it had the tiniest piece of brown or not white meat, he picked it off. When we'd go to McDonalds, he would just mutilate the chicken nuggets. I'd offer to get him a burger instead but he always said no. Oh it was so silly, he'd still be hungry when he finished because out of six nuggets, he'd only eaten the total of one. Anyway, yesterday after Lego Club, I took him out to lunch at McDonalds. Guess what? He did not pick one nugget apart! He just ate them! When he finished so fast, I was amazed, truly. In the car ride after I asked him if he noticed that he had done that and he said "No, I didn't notice that!" He was so happy!

Speaking of Lego Club, he had a good time. No hand flapping! Yeah! He did jump up and down a little, but that looks more like a normal thing an excited child will do than the hand flapping. I never put him down for the hand flapping, but people stared. Anyway, he talked with other boys, they looked at each other's Lego collections and then they built their Lego creations. The theme was transportation. I sat on the other side of the room and stayed there for the most part. It was almost the end and Zachary was putting a piece on the top of his creation and he pushed too hard and and the top part crumbled apart. He got a look on his face like he might cry, but then he started to fix it instead. I got up and picked up the bricks that had fallen on the other side of his table and asked "You ok?" he said "yes, my thing fell apart" I said, "I saw that." He said, "I can fix it." And he did. He only had one minute, but did the best he could and it was great!

It was really really great.

He's still going to sleep at night alone, and using the bathroom alone, and that is so great.

So, I wonder what else he will amaze us with. :) Time will tell!
