OMG!

My car!

It's running better than it has in years.  Years!  The timing is off, it does want to die when it's idling very slow, but that might have something to do with the belt they changed when they changed the alternator.  Other than that, it's running so quiet,  we can hardly hear it.

I made Z go with me to the garage.  Something about a single mom with a child, I think, makes them more honest.  I took it to a little muffler shop close to our old house.  I told them it's running so bad, if it's the catalytic converter, just bypass it until I get my income tax refund.  They put it up, looked at it and said the catalytic converter is fine, you just need two pipes.  The total will be $120.  Yeah! Took most of my grocery money for the week but it's so quiet and running so much better, we will figure out the groceries.  I was worried it would start a fire.  *sigh* and *phew!*

My refund, hopefully will be here within the next two weeks.  I can get the other two tires, pay off what I owe A (I'd be nowhere without her right now, she helped me pay for my divorce and for my car repairs.), pay the electric bill (fingers crossed they wait until I get my money!! Then pay for whatever else we need.  My school bonus will come soon, but that is all A's too.  Just thankful I can pay her off.

In other news! We found a corgi breeder less than an hour away! I know we shouldn't add to our expenses but we have wanted a puppy for so long.  When things are caught up, we should be set for a while.  K is paying child support regularly and that shouldn't end for a while. The car will have all major work done and my debts will be paid off.  Rocky is turning 8 this spring.  He is acting like a senior animal.  He is not that old, he is healthy and in great shape! A puppy will help him be more active.  Not only that but when the time comes and we have to say goodbye to him, we will still have the younger dog.  How that all plays out, we will wait and see.

I feel like we are about to turn a corner and it feels good.  So good it scares me, I will just hold on for the ride.  :)
