She's a lady I met a long time ago. She worked in the library at the big kid's elementary school. The school had us fill out a form asking for volunteers and what areas were we interested in. One of my choices was the library. Nancy called me and asked if I wanted to volunteer in the library with her. I said yes! So, twice a week, in the mornings while Eddie was in Kindergarten, I worked in the library.
Nancy loved me and tried to find a job for me to apply to. If she had, I am sure, I would not have Zachary. :) But everything happens for a reason and I have my boy and I love him so much.
Anyway, Nancy was the first person to look at me and give me credit for being able to do stuff. I've never felt like a person that could function in this world.
Nancy gave me a cute mug for Christmas that first year. I loved it. It's students sitting in school desks. They are characters from Suzy's Zoo. I still have it and I treasure it.
Nancy had to go on disability because she had vertigo so bad. It was so sad to see her leave that last time. I didn't know it'd be her last time there.
I wish I hadn't lost touch with Nancy. I think she'd be proud of where I've made it today. I'm going to try and find her, I don't know if she will remember me if I do find her but I'm going to try.
